Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang talks to Telefoot
Just days before the restart of the Premier League season, Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has appeared on French TV show Telefoot, and he’s openly talked about his contract situation at the Emirates Stadium.
Aubameyang only has one year remaining on his current Gunners deal.
If he decides to leave Arsenal, Aubameyang could possibly agree to join a new club as early as January 2021.
This season, Aubameyang has scored 21 goals in 30 games for Arsenal. He’s the club’s top scorer.
‘Arsenal have the keys to my extension but nothing is decided’
Aubameyang has revealed that he’s unsure whether he’s going to agree a contract extension with the Gunners.
He’s confirmed that while the parties have spoken about a new deal, Arsenal haven’t presented him with a substantial offer. He told Telefoot:
I haven’t recently received a proposition but of course there have been discussions with the club.
It’s them [the club] who have the keys and for them to do their work. Afterwards we will see what happens.
It is a turning point in my career. I have been very frank with everyone. It will be of course a very difficult decision to make.
It is possibly the most important decision of my career. But so far nothing has been decided.
Of course [I want to win titles]. Every player that is a competitor dreams of winning titles.
Everyone will then ask the question if you would like to win at Arsenal or win elsewhere.
As I said, it is the future that will tell us that. But I want to win titles. That is clear and everybody knows it.
"Arsenal a les clés pour ma prolongation. Ça va sûrement être le choix le plus important de ma carrière, mais pour l’instant rien n’est décidé"

If Aubameyang chooses to leave Arsenal where could he go?
Until recently, Chelsea had been linked as a possible option for Aubameyang. However, that transfer rumour has been binned after Chelsea’s move to sign Timo Werner instead.
Similarly, links between Aubameyang and PSG seem to have disintegrated after the Parisians completed the signing of Mauro Icardi.
Looking around the Premier League, could Aubameyang end up joining Man City, Liverpool, Leicester or Tottenham? That feels unlikely.
Inter Milan have been named as a possible suitor. However, before that happens, one suspects Inter will need to sell Lautaro Martinez to raise funds.
If Lautaro Martinez leaves Inter, he’s set to join Barcelona. However, should that deal implode, Aubameyang has also been named as a possible plan B for the Catalans.
