Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne has recently discussed how his side cans till have an unbelievable campaign, despite missing out of the Premier League title to Liverpool.
Liverpool crowned champions
The previous two campaigns saw Manchester City dominate the Premier League.
The Citizens garnered a record-breaking 100 points in 2017/18 with an equally as impressive 98 points earned last term.
Liverpool would challenge City until the final day of last campaign, with the Reds eventually missing out on domestic glory by a point.
However, in 2019/20, Man City’s league form has derailed massively. A combination of injury woes, departures and defensive frailties saw City’s attempts to retain their crown for a third successive year crumble halfway through the campaign.
And it would be Man City who inadvertently handed Liverpool their first-ever PL title earlier this week.
Pep Guardiola’s men fell to defeat at Chelsea on Thursday, a result which meant 2nd-place City were a staggering 23 points adrift of Liverpool with just seven games left to play.

De Bruyne on Man City’s season
After such a limp title defence, many may be of the opinion that the Manchester powerhouse’s season has been a failure.
However, one man who seemingly doesn’t agree with such an assessment is Kevin De Bruyne.
As the Belgian was quick to point out in a recent interview, Man City can still win both the FA Cup and Champions League in 2019/20.
And the midfield maestro is of the opinion that should City indeed clinch these trophies, it would be an unbelieve season:
“I think in comparison with a lot of other teams we are doing all right.
“We are still second, so that means after Liverpool we are the second best team, and I think we have still got big chances in the FA Cup and Champions League.
“Imagine if we come out after winning these cups, it will be an unbelievable season. We have got a lot to play for and look forward to it. There is no time for us to get down.”
