Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane broke Spain’s lockdown rules

Zinedine Zidane broke Spain’s lockdown rules

Spanish paper Sport have claimed that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane broke Spain’s lockdown rules.

According to the outlet, Zidane was spotted in the suburbs of Madrid last week.

Sport say Zidane was seen at the Comunidad de Madrid, which is miles away from his home in the capital.

The report says that Zidane left his primary location in Madrid to spent time in his second home.

As such, Zidane stands accused of having breached Spain’s quarantine measures, which strictly prohibited such movement in recent months.

Where is Sport’s proof?

Sport admit that they cannot share any photographic evidence to back up their report.

But, that’s only because “neighbours did not give permission” to the paper to publish a supposed image showing Zidane flouting Spain’s rules.

Will Real Madrid’s manager face punishment?

The short answer is that doesn’t seem likely.

Without any picture proof, the Spanish police are unlikely to act, report Sport.

However, if any pictures do surface, Sport say that Zidane could be fined up to 1,500 euros.

To be clear, there is no suggestion that Real Madrid will seek to punish Zidane.

Why Iker Casillas left Real Madrid

Spanish legend Iker Casillas has used social media this weekend to open up about why he left Real Madrid.

Casillas left the Santiago Bernabeu five years ago. He’s since been playing for FC Porto.

Writing on Instagram, Casillas explained:

I haven’t talked about my departure from Real Madrid very often.

I gave a press conference on my own —a mistake— and left. It’s been five years since that moment. Five years since I crossed the border to our neighbor country Portugal.

I needed to feel as a different player, to have a new atmosphere and environment and to leave that spotlight and criticism behind so that I could improve. That’s right folks, every player —no matter if he’s good or bad— wants to improve and in order to do that you can improve physically and mentally.

This last thing was important and I felt it again in Porto. Don’t let them tell you other things.

This pic belongs to a Real Madrid vs Getafe played on the 2014-15 season. I knew it was going to be my last game. The Last Match.

Pocas veces hablé de mi salida del @realmadrid. Di una rueda de prensa en solitario, error, y me fui. 5 años han pasado ya desde entonces. 5 años que cruce la frontera que me llevó a nuestro país vecino: Portugal. Necesitaba volver a sentirme otro. The Last Match. #iwillcomeback #madrid #buenasnochesmundo🌍
