3 Real Betis players test positive for Covid-19

It’s been another troubling weekend for plans to restart soem of the top football leagues in Europe.

On Saturday, the Bundesliga’s resumption plans took a knock after Dynamo Dresden, who had already produced one positive Covid-19 cases, confirmed that two more players have contracted the virus.

For now, the Bundesliga’s restart plans remain a goer.

Meanwhile, over in Spain, hopes to resume the 2019-20 La Liga season have also taken a blow after Real Betis confirmed that three of their players have tested positive for Covid-19.

The aim is to restart La Liga in June.

According to @DeportesCuatro, if everything goes as planned, the 2019-20 La Liga season will resume on June 20 and end on July 26.

What do we know about the Real Betis Covid-19 cases?

Real Betis haven’t confirmed which players have tested positive for Covid-19.

However, as reported on Spanish radio station Cadena SER, two players are asymptomatic while the other player is showing symptoms.

All three footballers have now been placed in quarantine for the next two weeks.

La Liga: 6 positive Covid-19 cases

As confirmed by Spanish outlet El Desmarque, six players in La Liga have tested positive for Covid-19.

Aside from the three players at Betis, Yángel Herrera (Granada CF), Renan Lodi (Atlético Madrid), and Álex Remiro (Real Sociedad) are all in quarantine after their positive tests.

Real Betis are 12th in La Liga with 33 points from 27 games.

They are eight points above the drop zone.
