Speculation that Birmingham City starlet Jude Bellingham could make the move to Manchester United this summer has moved up a gear this weekend.
Blues prodigy
Bellingham, a 16-year-old midfielder, came up through Birmingham’s youth ranks.
The English youth international had been viewed as one of the finest talents on the books at St. Andrew’s for some time, eventually resulting in Bellingham, despite his tender years, being introduced to the club’s first-team setup ahead of the current campaign.
And to say that the teen has since gone on to impress at senior level would be putting it lightly.
Incredibly, Bellingham has featured in all but 5 of Birmingham’s 37 Championship fixtures to this point in the campaign.
The midfielder has even chipped in with 4 goals and 2 assists across these appearances.

‘Deal is effectively sealed’
As such, Bellingham’s impressive, but above all mature displays at the heart of the Blues’ midfield this season have inevitably resulted in speculation that he has been added to the respective wishlists of a number of not only English football’s giants, but top clubs throughout Europe.
To this point, all of Manchester United, Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have been named as keen suitors of the midfielder.
It is United, though, who have been by some distance the most persistently linked.
Bellingham is even thought to have already been given a guided tour of the Red Devils’ Carrington training base.
And, as outlined above, a pair of updates on Manchester United’s pursuit of the Birmingham star have been forthcoming this weekend.
Standard Sport have revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is so eager to clinch a deal for Bellingham this summer that the Norwegian is prepared to offer the midfielder a prominent first-team role at Old Trafford next season.
This of course comes despite Bellingham being just 16 years of age.
In a separate report, meanwhile, 90Min add that the Red Devils remain ‘confident’ that they will beat off all competition to secure the English starlet’s signature.
In fact, ‘a source has told 90min that United believe the deal is effectively sealed.’
The Manchester giants are also thought to be keen to lure Bellingham’s younger brother Jobe to Old Trafford.
