Man City vs Arsenal
After 100 days without it, the Premier League returns today with two matches: first, it’s Aston Villa vs Sheffield United, and then it’s Man City against Arsenal.
Back in March, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who joined the Gunners from Man City, tested positive for Covid-19.
Arteta’s positive result prompted the Premier League to suspend the 2019-20 competition until now.
Man City come into the match in second place, however they are a staggering 25 points behind leaders Liverpool.
Pep Guardiola’s charges, who have already won the Carabao Cup, could also win the FA Cup and Champions League this season.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have a major battle on their hands to secure European football next term. The Gunners are 9th.
Why Leroy Sane & Aymeric Laporte are unlikely to start for Man City
Predicting any Pep Guardiola XI often feels like an impossible task. This feeling is increased ahead of the Arsenal game following the 3-month pause in proceedings.
However, on Wednesday in the Times, they’ve predicted how City will line up at the empty Etihad Stadium. In a bold statement, readers are told:
Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte are more susceptible to injury so they are unlikely to start.
Both Sane and Laporte are now available again after injuries.
In another selection update, the Times predict that Kyle Walker will start the game:
Kyle Walker will be considered for selection despite being censured by the club for breaking lockdown rules on two separate occasions.

What about the predicted Arsenal XI
When it comes to predicting the Arsenal XI, there appear to be fewer surprises. After an injury-hit season, Keiran Tierney is poised to start at left-back.
Eddie Nketiah had a run of appearances in the first team just before the league was stopped. However, Nketiah is tipped to return to the bench as Alexandre Lacazette will probably start in attack against City.
