HLN report that while Vertonghen has agreed this mini extension, there’s no chance he remains at Spurs next year.
Reporter Kristof Terreur notes that Vertonghen has plenty of admirers. That includes AS Roma, however they have Man United’s Chris Smalling higher on their shopping list.
HLN also claim that Vertonghen has offers from several clubs in Spain.

Arsenal are waiting until the last minute
Over at Arsenal, the Gunners only have a day to go to complete four possible contract extensions.
Currently, David Luiz, Cedric Soares, Pablo Mari and Dani Ceballos are all out of contract at the end of the season.
At the same time, it’s also been reported that Emile Smith Rowe will continue his loan spell at Huddersfield until the end of the Championship season.
Process of sorting loan and contract extensions for players at Arsenal and out on loan well underway. I’m told extension of Emile Smith Rowe’s loan to Huddersfield is signed off.
