Tottenham line up two friendlies in 24 hours before the Man United game
One of the headline matches when the Premier League returns is the ‘Jose Mourinho derby’ between Tottenham and Manchester United.
That match will be played at Tottenham’s empty stadium on Friday, June 19.
This match could have a significant bearing on European qualification next season.
Man United are 5th on 45 points, while Spurs are 8th on 41 points.
If Man City’s UEFA ban is upheld, 5th place in the Premier League will carry a Champions League qualification place.
It’s now been confirmed by Football London’s Alasdair Gold that Spurs are scheduled to play two friendlies in 24 hours to gear up for the Man United match.
A few days ago we reported that Tottenham had lined up a game against Norwich. Spurs will follow that game with a match against Championship side Reading.
Those matches will be played on Friday, June 12 and Saturday, June 13.
The Special One is expected to ring changes for the Norwich and Reading games:
Mourinho is keen to ensure as many players as possible in his squad are match fit and sharp as they take on Manchester United in a massive clash next Friday and then just three days later face a London derby against West Ham United.
With the players having not played a competitive game in three months, the Portuguese is likely to have to rotate some of his starting XI for the game against the Hammers so soon after facing United and lining up two friendlies in the coming days will allow him to sharpen up more players’ fitness levels.
Hearing that Spurs could host Reading in a friendly on Saturday, the day after the game against Norwich. The thinking would be to give Jose Mourinho the opportunity to hand another set of 11 players (and subs) the chance to build their match fitness and sharpness.

Dele Alli is about discover if he’s suspended
Will Tottenham be without Dele Alli for the Man United match?
The Evening Standard have confirmed that the FA are about to announce whether Alli will be punished for a video he posted on SnapChat back in February.
Alli appeared to mock an Asian man on his social media account, before the Covid-19 pandemic had truly hit England.
The FA’s decision is scheduled to be revealed on Thursday.
On the likelihood on a suspension being dished out, the Evening Standard report:
There are no set sanctions for improper use of social media but, in a not dissimilar case last November, Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva was banned for one match and fined £50,000 after an FA commission found he had “unquestionably” brought the game into disrepute with a tweet about team-mate Benjamin Mendy.

Aside from the possibility of being banned against Man United, a two-match ban would mean the England international would miss Tottenham’s clash with West Ham.
For the record, Alli deleted his video from social media soon after the event, while he’s also apologised for his behaviour.
