Manchester United were in action at their empty Old Trafford stadium on Friday when they took on West Brom.

West Brom are hoping to win automatic promotion to the Premier League this season.

On Friday, the sides actually played two games to work on their match fitness before the Premier League resumes this week.

In the first match, West Brom beat United 2-1.

However, in the second game, Man United won the match 3-1.

Andreas Pereira stole the headlines in United’s win, as the midfielder scored twice against the Baggies.

Tahith Chong bagged United’s other goal, as he capitalised on a poor mistake from the West Brom keeper.

It’s Bruno Fernandes vs Marcus Rashford on penalties

Who will be Man United’s designated penalty taker when football returns?

On Friday, Bruno Fernandes stepped up to convert a penalty in United’s 2-1 defeat to West Brom.

The Portuguese playmaker has shown his prowess from the spot earlier this season, as he took responsibility for United’s penalties when the likes of Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba were injured.

Against the Baggies, Bruno displayed his ‘hop, skip, jump’ technique for slotting home a spot-kick.

But now that Rashford and Pogba are fit again, who will take a penalty when the Premier League returns?

This issue was analysed on the recent ‘Talk of the Devils’ podcast from the Athletic.

According to the Athletic’s reporters, the likelihood is that Rashford will take United’s penalties when the season restarts.

Bruno is tipped to be Rashford’s backup, while Pogba is lower on the list.
