Leo Messi is fit for the start of La Liga
On Thursday night, the Spanish La Liga season will resume with a massive match: the derby between Sevilla and Betis.
The Seville clasico kicks off a festival of football in Spain, which will see top flight matches on an almost daily basis until the season ends.
Barcelona are top of the league on 58 points, two points clear of Real Madrid.
It’s worth noting that there have already been two El Clasicos in the 2019-20 season.
In recent days there have been fears that Leo Messi could be injured for the resumption of the campaign.
However, widespread reports on Monday have confirmed that Messi is fit and available.
Barcelona’s first game back is away at Mallorca on Saturday.

The Neymar, PSG, Barcelona summer soap opera kicks off
Mundo Desportivo have kickstarted the ‘Neymar back to Barcelona’ soap opera on Monday.
On their front page, readers are told:
‘I want to go to Barcelona’ – Neymar’s wish to return to Barcelona remains unfulfilled, but he wants to leave Paris on good terms.
(Neymar) is hopeful PSG and Barcelona can negotiate a deal, but the situation is complicated.
Mundo Deportivo claim that Neymar has told some of his PSG team mates, including Kylian Mbappe, that he wants to leave PSG to return to the Camp Nou.

Neymar’s obstacles in trying to return to Barcelona
Working on the assumption that Neymar is indeed intent of leaving PSG for Barcelona, several obstacles could prove insurmountable for the Brazilian.
First, there’s his price tag. PSG paid 222 million euros for the striker, while last week Sport claimed that PSG are demanding “175 million euros in cash” for Neymar.
That’s a sum which is likely to prove prohibitive for Barcelona to pay during this financial crisis and global pandemic.

Secondly, how keen are Barcelona on re-signing Neymar anyway?
While there’s no doubting Neymar’s impact at the Camp Nou in the past, Barcelona appear to have locked their attention on signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter instead.
In recent weeks, reports have been rife that Lautaro’s deal with Barcelona is all-but done.

Neymar’s PSG season isn’t over
While the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season has been finished for several weeks, PSG’s campaign isn’t over.
The Parisians are still in the Champions League, having beaten Borussia Dortmund in the last-16.
The Champions League is set to resume in August.
