Kia Joorabchian’s growing influence on Arsenal’s transfer policy
He’s not an Arsenal employee – he’s a super agent – however, Kia Joorabchian appears to exert incredible influence over Arsenal’s transfer policy.
Arsenal have agreed four new contracts in recent hours, including signing Cedric Soares from Southampton on a 4-year deal while David Luiz will remain at the club for another 12 months.
What Cedric and Luiz have in common? Kia Joorabchian is their agent.
Last week, during an interview on TalkSport which touched on the transfer talks with his clients, Kia Joorabchian, dropped the following eye-catching comment:
It’s a case of allowing Arsenal to sort out everything that needs to be sorted out during this pandemic. There are several issues within the whole structure that will get resolved.
🙌 “David has been very clear that he is happy at Arsenal.”
📝 “I’m sure we will deal with this [contract] matter at a good time.”
🏆 “David believes the club has huge prospects [to win trophies].”

Those comments triggered many into believing that Kia Joorabchian is deeply involved in the policy making decisions at the Emirates Stadium.
Joorabchian’s comments, however, shouldn’t really be a surprise when you consider that Edu, Arsenal’s technical director, is another Joorabchian client.

What are the problems with Kia Joorabchian close ties with Arsenal?
Wolves fans know all too well how much one agent can transform a club.
At Molineux, Jorge Mendes has worked wonders in helping Wolves secure some of the best talent to lift them out of the Championship and into contenders for a top 6 spot.
However, while Jorge Mendes has brought Joao Moutinho, Ruben Neves and manager Nuno Espirito Santo to the Midlands, Arsenal have signed Cedric – who has been injured for 6 months and has already cost the club a one million pound loan fee – and David Luiz, who showed his frailties at Man City.
Reporter Daniel Storey has revealed his concerns about Joorabchian’s close ties at Arsenal:
It risks creating a transparency issue. Supporters assume that, even if a transfer fails, the player was signed because the club fully believed he was the best choice available.

Arseblog has similarly raised concerns about Joorabchian’s influence over who Arsenal are signing:
The question is, are these players the best players that Arsenal could have got, or simply players that suit our needs from agents with whom we clearly have very cosy relationships?

Wondering what Raul Sanllehi does
Raul Sanllehi is the head of football at Arsenal. Sanllehi is supposed to be in control of Arsenal’s transfer policy. But what does he actually do?
Arseblog sarcastically commented that “Sanllehi seems to need a lot of help from agents to get things done… there’s a pattern of behaviour here that I find concerning.”
Meanwhile, Sanllehi’s last contract extension with a current Arsenal player was Joe Willock’s deal back in September 2019.
Alarmingly, Bukayo Saka, who has been Arsenal’s young player of the year this season, is poised to become a free agent in 12 months time.
Whilst Pierre Emerick Aubameyang is out of contract at the end of next season and can speak with clubs over a free transfer in January 2021.
There is a lot to be concerned about for Gooners across the globe.

Cedric is 29 this summer, hasn’t played a game for Arsenal in six months on loan (£1m loan fee), and has signed a four-year contract. Someone’s getting paid; and someone’s getting taken for a ride. Which is which: TBC.https://t.co/RZUJIPmiVR

Arsenal are giving injury prone 28 year old Cedric Soares a 4 year contract & David Luiz a 1 year extension. Both represented by Kia Joorabchian.
At this point, i’m convinced he’s got Raul Sanllehi’s nudes.

Cédric signing a 3 year deal without a game, Marí to follow suit after playing 2 games. Luiz will probably get his 2 year deal too. Who is handling those issues? You wonder
