Claudio Bravo & Manchester City
Now 37, Chilean goalie Claudio Bravo is poised to become a free agent when the Premier League season ends.
Bravo was set to leave Man City on June 30. However it’s since been revealed that the keeper is poised to agree a contract extension to remain at the club for another month. Pep Guardiola has said:
(Claudio Bravo is) going to stay until the end of the season like David (Silva). He had a hamstring problem. He arrived incredibly well, he stayed all the lockdown here with his kids, they are so happy in England.
Unfortunately, one week or 10 days before the start of the season, he had a pain but yesterday he started to run, so I think in a few days he’ll start training again.
But could Arsenal sign Claudio Bravo instead?
On Tuesday morning, Spanish journalist Kike Marin has claimed that Arsenal could try to sign Claudio Bravo from Man City.
Crucially, Kike Marin has suggested that Bravo could join Arsenal for much longer than only until the end of the season. He’s claimed:
Mikel Arteta knows that he is a reliable goalkeeper and he still has a couple of years of football left.

Arsenal looking for a solution after Bernd Leno’s injury vs Brighton
Bravo is now a consideration for Arsenal after the club lost their number one goalie option, Bernd Leno, in last weekend’s defeat against Brighton.
Leno was stretchered out of the game after a collision with Neal Maupay.
Back-up keeper Emi Martinez came off the Gunners bench to make his first appearance in the Premier League this season.
Emi Martinez is set to start in goal for Arsenal at Southampton on Thursday.
Leno looks seriously injured. Awful for him & a hammer blow for Arsenal. He’s been one of our best & most consistent players. Poor guy. #afc pic.twitter.com/xU7CE9ax1q

Fears that Bernd Leno’s injury may keep him out for a year
It’s still unclear how long Leno will be out for.
However, according to Goal.com, the outlook for Leno isn’t good. Readers have been told:
Bernd Leno looks set for an extended spell on the sidelines after the horrible knee injury he sustained against Brighton on Saturday.
The true extent of Leno’s injury has yet to be confirmed, but there are fears he has damaged the cruciate ligament in his left knee and could be facing up to a year out.
It was already shaping up to be an incredibly difficult summer for Mikel Arteta and the past few days have ensured it will now be even tougher.
