Arsenal likely to be priced out of move for Norwich’s Max Aarons/Expected to make Cedric’s arrival permanent

The latest word surrounding the future of Norwich star Max Aarons suggests that a key suitor look set to be forced out of the race for his signature.

Norwich standout

20-year-old right-back Aarons made the move to Carrow Road in 2016, from Luton Town.

And, after impressing in the youth ranks of the Canaries, Aarons was subsequently fast-tracked into the club’s first-team setup last season.

The explosive stopper went on to play a key role in Norwich’s return to the Premier League, racking up 2 goals and 6 assists across 41 Championship appearances in 2018/19.

And his fine displays have since carried into the English top-flight, as Aarons’ reputation as a potential star in the making continues to grow.

To this point in the campaign, the youngster has started in all but 2 of Norwich’s 29 league outings.

Arsenal to miss out

However, with Daniel Farke’s outfit languishing dead bottom of the Premier League table, and staring relegation in the face, rumours have inevitably begun to circulate that Aarons could soon be on the move.

Reports earlier this year saw all of Arsenal, Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund hotly-tipped to swoop for the Norwich star.

As outlined above, though, if the latest speculation in England over the last 24 hours is to be believed, then one of this trio of sides will almost certainly not be signing Aarons this summer.

The outfit in question are Arsenal.

According to the reliable Charles Watts of Goal, Norwich’s valuation of their star stopper means that, even if the Canaries are relegated back to the Championship, Arsenal will still likely be unable to afford a deal.

Previous reports have suggested that Aarons’ price-tag sits around the £30 million mark.

Watts also adds, though, that Mikel Arteta remains keen to reinforce the right-hand side of his backline this summer.

As a result, ‘it’s likely that Arsenal will look to sign Cedric Soares on a permanent basis, or look to promote Jordi Osei-Tutu into the first-team squad following his loan spell this season in Germany with Bochum.’
