Lautaro Martinez transfer details from Inter Milan to Barcelona are ‘finalised’

Lautaro Martinez will join Barcelona, say Ole

Argentinian newspaper Ole have come out with a strongly worded report on Thursday claiming that Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez will join Barcelona.

Ole could hardly be more emphatic with their reporting, labelling the transfer “the dream that will come true”, while telling their readers that “the details of a million dollar transfer are finalised.”

Barcelona and Inter Milan are said to be in constant contact during the pandemic.

Ole say “Lautaro Martínez is very close – too close – to being a Barcelona player.”

When will Inter & Barcelona close terms?

The report notes that while there are “thousands” of details to be covered in the transfer, “in the last few hours, less and less is missing.”

That said, Ole suggest that the earliest time the deal may be announced could be when the Spanish and Italian league restart.

Alternatively, Lautaro Martínez’s move to Barcelona could be sealed when the Champions League resumes in August.

How much will Barcelona pay to sign Lautaro Martínez?

Lautaro Martinez has a 111 million euro release clause in his Inter Milan contract, which only expires in 2023.

Ole claim that Barcelona will meet that valuation, although the plan is to include players in the deal.

Three players are mentioned as possible makeweights: Arturo Vidal, Nelson Semedo and Ivan Rakitic.

What Ole don’t tell us?

There’s no indication of the length of deal being offered to Lautaro Martinez from Barcelona.

Also, it’s unclear how much the 22-year-old may stand to earn at the Camp Nou.

What Leo Messi thinks about Lautaro Martinez

Lautaro Martinez has scored 16 goals in 31 games for Inter this season.

Last week, Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo spoke to Leo Messi about his international strike partner. Messi said:

Lautaro is an impressive striker, above all because I think he is a very complete number nine.

He’s strong, dribbles well, scores goals, knows how to protect the ball.

But we will have to see what happens with him and with the others names they are saying.

Most expensive transfer fees for Argentinian footballers

If Lautaro Martinez joins Barcelona, he’ll become the Argentine with the highest transfer fee in the world.

Assuming that deal happens, the top 5 most expensive transfer fees for Argentinian footballers will be as follows.

1. Lautaro Martínez – €111m (from Inter to Barcelona)

2. Gonzalo Higuain – €90m (from Napoli to Juventus)

3. Angel di Maria – €75m (from Real Madrid to Man United)

4. Angel di Maria – €63m (from Man United to PSG)

5. Hernán Crespo – €58m (from Parma to Lazio)

6. Giovani Lo Celso – €48m (from Betis to Tottenham)
