Jorginho’s Chelsea stint
Jorginho made the switch to Chelsea in the summer of 2018 for a fee believed to be in the region of £57m.
Since making the switch to England, the Italian has endured somewhat of a mixed stint.
The 2018/19 campaign was especially difficult for Jorginho.
Maurizio Sarri, Chelsea boss at the time, brought Jorginho to the Blues from his previous club Napoli.
And with Sarri opting to oust N’Golo Kante from the base of Chelsea’s midfield, replacing him with Jorginho, the former Napoli man, in many ways, became synonymously linked with Sarri and his somewhat controversial brand of football dubbed, ‘Sarri-ball’. Jorginho even went on record to state he was not Sarri’s golden boy, so frequent did the link between the pair become.
However, despite his rough start to life in the Premier League, Jorginho has since gone on to cement himself as an essential figure in Chelsea’s midfield.
It is quite clear that Jorginho has benefited from finally stepping out from Sarri’s shadow and the 28-year-old has also seemingly begun to adapt to the physicality of the English game.

Jorginho’s agent speaks out
All told, the 22-time capped international has notched 37 appearances across all competitions this term, netting seven and assisting two in the process.
Despite his upturn in form over the last season or so, Jorginho has still been fairly heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent months.
The most common link touted, unsurprisingly, has been Jorginho moving to Juventus, where Sarri is now at the helm.
However, as mentioned above, if recent comments from Jorginho’s agent are to be believed, then it is not just Juve who are interested in the deep-lying midfielder’s services.
Speaking to Radio Musica Television, Jorginho’s agent claimed that two top European clubs, not from Italy, have contacted him:
“If you ask me if Sarri likes Jorginho, I’d say ‘yes’ due to their history.
“I can’t say anything about the transfer market as I’m not in touch with anyone right now.
“Jorginho still has three years left on his contract and is doing well at Chelsea, but if a big enough offer comes in then a deal could go through.
“In this sense, two top European clubs, not Italian ones, contacted me.”
