Fred’s Man United stint
Fred joined Manchester United in the summer of 2018.
The Manchester powerhouse are understood to have paid Shakhtar Donetsk £47m for the Brazilian’s services.
Despite his hefty price-tag though, Fred had a rather tough start to life in the English top-flight.
Fred featured in just 17 of United’s Premier League ties last term with neither of Jose Mourinho nor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemingly too keen to give the midfielder a prolonged run in their sides.
Unfortunately for Fred, the 2019/20 season looked to start much the same way the last had ended, with him playing somewhat of a bit-part role.
In fact, the 27-year-old had to wait until October to be handed his first league start of the season.
However, Fred has since, in part due to injuries to the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay, been afforded an abundance of chances in the Red Devil’s senior side.
And Fred has certainly gone on to reward Solskjaer for his faith in him with the box-to-box midfielder putting on some excellent displays in the second half of the campaign.
Fred’s up-turn in form even led to him picking up United’s Player of the Month award for January.

Fred’s most special moment
And now, on Thursday the 30th of April, Fred has been discussing his best moment in a United shirt.
Fred named a couple of special moments during his wide-ranging interview on Manchester United’s official website, including his brace vs Club Brugge:
“There was the game against Brugge this season, where I scored twice.. Up until then, I’d been playing well but I hadn’t been scoring. I think scoring in that game was the crowning achievement of all the hard work I’d been putting in this season.”
But it would be his first-ever goal as a Man United player that Fred branded his ‘most special moment’.
The Brazilian international also hinted the moment was made even more special by his celebration, which was inspired by his wife, who was pregnant with his son at the time:
“However the most special moment of all for me was my first goal for United against Wolverhampton. My wife was pregnant, we hadn’t had [our son] Benjamin yet, and I could dedicate the goal to him, I scored and celebrated like this [sucking his thumb].
“So I think that’s the most special moment in my United career. There was so much emotion with the fans cheering the goal, I was celebrating together with my team-mates. So, out of all the moments I’ve had at United, that was the best.”
